Designer Astrid takes inspiration from German abstract art to create timeless contemporary staples – think simple tees, and striped dresses. Astrid took an early interest in art and music before finally homing in on design and fashion. Following her studies at the Bauhaus Design School, Astrid took her love for German abstract art and blended it into AIBIRY’s bold, statement-making designs. Her globe-trotting style blends two strands of thinking, ‘colour’, which takes the strong and powerful colours of abstract art, combined with Taoism like ‘fluidity’, seen in the light flowing fabrics. Using a special printing technique, the colors merge – sometimes more, sometimes less – and harmonize in their own way.
